My Life
My life has been defined by photography for more than thirty years. Starting out in Editorial and Advertising publications such as the Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Daily News & Life Magazine and The Boston Globe, as well as other publications. My work has appeared in Restoration Hardware and is currently in a collection with Natural Curiosities. You can also find my work at Adams Galleries in Austin, Tx
Silver Gelatin
The beauty of Black & White film is the foundation for the magic that happens in the darkroom. Black & White stirs the imagination and simplifies the form, composition and overall concept. The silver in the paper makes this process archival and dates back to the mid 1800's.
The Process
These images have subtle differences as they are hand printed in the darkroom using the "wet" process. I use archival cotton fiber paper that is coated in a gelatin of silver halide which makes the paper light sensitive. Each one of my images has it's own relationship with light and chemicals creating your special image. Most of my work is then sepia toned. Occasionally I hand color a piece to define and highlight an element.
